The DELTA Roadbook

The exam is in German even when your training is in English. The Roadbook gives you the exact words you will hear in the car — so an instruction never costs you the exam.

  • German exam vocabulary

The words and instructions that actually come up during the practical exam.

  • What the examiner says

Typical examiner commands, translated and explained.

  • German traffic rules

The rules you are expected to know, in plain language.

  • How Germany drives

Right of way, Autobahn habits, priority signs and local specifics.

  • Situations that differ

Manoeuvres and situations that work differently than in your home country.

  • Compact exam tips

A short checklist to run through the evening before your exam.

From application to EU licence

How your conversion works

Five steps, in this order. We handle the driving school side and tell you exactly what to bring to the authorities.

Step 01

Free first assessment

Send us your licence details. We check whether your country requires a theory exam, a practical exam, or both.

Step 02

Application at the authority

You file the conversion application. Translation, eye test and first-aid course are handled on your side — we tell you what is needed.

Step 03

Theory preparation

You learn with the official learning app in one of the available exam languages and we register you for the theory exam.

Step 04

6 driving training sessions

City, country roads, Autobahn and typical exam routes — in English or German, with the Roadbook in your hand.

Step 05

Practical exam

We register you for the practical exam once your driving is genuinely exam-ready. Then you drive away with an EU licence.

Driving on the Autobahn

City - Country road - German Autobahn

Every session is driven where the exam is driven — including the routes examiners in Mannheim actually use.

Read before you apply

Important information about your application

No surprises later. These are the two points people most often misunderstand about converting a non-EU licence.

Exam readiness

Six sessions are a plan, not a guarantee

The number of driving training sessions included does not guarantee exam readiness. The practical exam only makes sense once you drive safely and confidently enough to pass it. If you need more time behind the wheel, we say so honestly.

Third-party costs

What the package price does not cover

Authority fees, examination fees charged by external bodies, translations, the eye test, the first-aid course and any other third-party costs are not part of the package prices — where they are required at all.

Questions we get every week

FAQ

Yes. Your driving training and all communication with us can be in English or German. The theory exam can be taken in one of the official exam languages, and the learning app is available in those languages too. The practical exam itself is held in German — which is exactly why the DELTA Roadbook is included.
